The Accounting Professional & Ethical Standards Board (APESB) released an Independence Guide in May 2020. This guide was rewritten to incorporate changes to APES 110 Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (the code) which took effect from 1 January 2020. In response to this guidance provided to Australian Auditors, HQB have expanded their Audit Services to include an Audit Readiness Solution, to assist organisations in preparing for their audit.

Preparing for an audit can be a stressful time for many finance teams. Our passion is to work collaboratively with your team, to ensure that skills and processes are imbedded operationally as a consequence of our involvement.

Our Audit Readiness solution includes:

  • Financial Statement Preparation in accordance with your relevant regulatory requirements
  • Collation of supporting workpapers that underpin the financial statements
  • Assistance in obtaining technical opinions and drafting position papers on new and emerging accounting standards or significant transactions or events
  • Financial mentoring to smaller organisations to support your staff in providing reliable, effective, and timely management reporting
  • Engaging with your audit committee to identify potential risks ahead of the commencement of the audit process
  • Access to regular training to ensure that your finance team stays up to date with the latest financial reporting changes and industry developments

I met James Davis from HQB about 6 - 7 years ago when we were looking for an accountant that would suit our needs better and provide the advice that would steer us into the future.At the time I sat in front of James and fired so many questions, scenarios, future plans etc and James did not bat an eyelid.
