We would like to remind small businesses that the NSW Small Business Fees & Charges Rebate is another COVID measure that was introduced by the NSW Government in June this year and is still accessible.
The scheme provides sole traders, small businesses and not-for-profits with a rebate capped at $1,500 to help cover the cost of certain eligible fees and charges, such as trade licences, event fees, food authority fees and council rates. To be eligible, the small business or not-for-profit must hold an ABN and operate a business in NSW as well as having total Australian wages of under $1.2 million in the 2020-2021 year.
The rebate applies to eligible fees and charges incurred between 1 March 2021 and 30 June 2022. Multiple claims can be made during this period, as each fee or charge is incurred (but you cannot claim more than $1,500). Click here for a list of eligible fees and charges.
To apply for the rebate, head over to the Service NSW website.
