Financial relief available to businesses is changing as quickly as the areas going into lockdown, so don’t think that just because you haven’t heard from us your business isn’t eligible. If your business has been impacted by the July/August lockdowns, please reach out to us as there may be help available and we can point you in the right direction.
The most recent key change is an update to the comparison periods we can use to determine your decline in turnover. When comparing your turnover, we can now use the same period in 2019 or 2020 (new), or a 2 week period in early June 2021 (also new).
COVID-19 BUSINESS SUPPORT GRANT – ONE OFF PAYMENT
The COVID-19 Business Support Grant is available to businesses who have suffered a decline in turnover of at least 30% during the first three weeks of the Greater Sydney Lockdown (26 June to 17 July 2021) due to the Public Health Order. The amount of grant available varies depending on your decline in turnover between $7,500 and $15,000
BUSINESS SUPPORT PAYMENT (JOB SAVER) – ONGOING PAYMENT
Job Saver is an ongoing payment available to businesses who have suffered a decline in turnover of at least 30% as a result of COVID lockdowns. To be eligible for the grant, a business must have suffered a decline in turnover of at least 30% over a two week period between 18 July and 28 August 2021. The amount of Job Saver a business may receive will vary between $1,000 and $100,000 per week depending on the amount of wages you normally pay.
COVID-19 MICRO BUSINESS GRANT – ONGOING PAYMENT
This payment is similar to Job Saver but is available to businesses with a turnover of between $30G and $75G. Like the other relief available, the business must have experienced a decline in turnover of at least 30% over a two week period between 18 July and 28 August 2021 due to the Public Health Order. The Micro Grant is a fortnightly payment of $1,500.
OTHER RELIEF – PAYROLL TAX, LAND TAX AND RESIDENTIAL TENANCY SUPPORT
Relief has also been announced for businesses that are required to pay Payroll Tax and Land Tax, and a payment to residential landlords to reduce rent for impacted tenants.
Please contact our office if you need assistance with determining your businesses eligibility.
