This year, HQB teamed up with Westpac Rescue Helicopter and sponsored the HQB Coffs Harbour Charity Golf Day. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter hits home for the HQB team – as one of our Partner’s James Davis was personally rescued by the Helicopter crew when a hiking trip at Glennifer Falls with friends that didn’t quite go to plan… James tells his story:

“When I was 21, and Ashlie was 7 months pregnant with Immi. I went on the ‘Glennifer Falls’ walk with a group of friends. During the walk, I slipped and fell around 5 metres onto rocks below. Knocked unconscious with a hurt back and major head injury, my friend called for help. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew got to the scene but couldn’t land due to the terrain, so they sent the paramedic down on a winch with a stretcher. There is no way that I could have gotten out of that position without helicopter assistance, and I am forever grateful.”

Last Friday the 14th of October was the Charity Golf Day and what a day it was. Heidi (one of HQB’s team players) also won the longest drive for the woman – congrats!

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter is actively saving lives and supporting our emergency services in our community everyday – what a great cause to support!

I was referred to James & the HQB team around 2016. I met James Davis from HQB about 6 - 7 years ago when we were looking for an accountant that would suit our needs better and provide the advice that would steer us into the future.At the time I sat in front of James and fired so many questions, scenarios, future plans etc and James did not bat an eyelid. HQB accountants are the best. They have pointed things out to me that my previous accountant didn't. They got me set up and straightened out all my accounts to ensure I was complying with with regulators. I now know my accounts are in good order.
